• Browsers The most popular and used web browsers
  These browsers are the most popular. I personally use Fire fox. It loads faster then IE. Although I have them all and use then when designing web sites. It is very important to look at your sites using all the browsers. Because not everyone uses Internet explorer. I have run into a few issues when designing a site and looking at it in Opera, and could never fix those problems. It is just how they read the sites.

• Useful color and number coding index.  The Hidden Effects Of Colors That Create The Right Ambience.
  Did you know that your site visitors make a subconscious judgment within the first 90 seconds of initial viewing of your site, and that between 62% and 90% of that assessment is based on color alone? If you feel, your web site is not pulling in and or not holding those people. It may be the color combinations of your site that is interfering with your visitor's sense of harmony! Color influences the moods and the sentiments. Color can be effectively used in web sites as mood enhancer's and make the visitor feel comfortable and calm. Begin to use color effectively with its millions of combinations to your advantage.  Cool Colors: Blue, green, purple, turquoise and silver are known as cool colors. Cool colors casts calming effect on your web site visitors. But beware, when used alone, these colors can leave a cold and impersonal feel on your site and your visitors. So combine colors from other groups intelligently and avoid this.  Warm Colors:  Red, pink, yellow, orange, purple, and gold belong to warm colors and has an exciting effect on the viewer. But when used alone, they can get over-stimulated! It can swell up emotions like anger! So add colors from other groups to strike an eye pleasing balance.  Neutral Colors: Brown, tan, ivory, gray, black and white falls in neutral colors. Neutral colors are best used when mixed with cool or warm colors. They have the innate capacity to tone down the effect of other overpowering colors and can be excellent as backgrounds. Black can be used to create a dark shade of a primary color and white for a light shade. So what's the perfect color combination for your web site? There is no real specific answer to be honest!  But with this info you can play with colors and see what works best with your target audience, and produces the most sales. And with web page stats you can closely monitor how long your surfers stay, or how quickly they exit from your site.

• Network Solution I had an issue with them once. I paid to renew my domain name. They demanded I pay for 2 years instead of the 1 year, this was after I already paid the 1 year renew, and they sold it to someone else. They never issued a refunded back to me. I got that domain name back a year later when that person let it expire, thank goodness. I will never do business with this company again.

• Google Tool Bar Important for PR page rank monitoring.

• Translate View web pages in other languages. This is a good feature if you want to create your sites in many different languages and code them by country flags. This will be a lot of work to translate each page. This will keep the foreign surfers visiting your site and keep them longer, instead of them exiting out of your site.
• Programmer's Notepad Is a free text editor with special features for coders.
• CSE HTML Validator I am starting to use this program more and more. Some web design programs (such as dreamweaver, and frontpage) create errors within it's code, and some believe that those design programs used to create web pages also effect ones web site when it comes to getting listed with the search engines. This program will create HTML, XHTML, and CSS checker that also includes a link checker, spell checker, accessibility checker, and built-in editor.

  In general, open source refers to any program whose source code is made available for use or modification as users or other developers see fit. I have created a small lost of links to free open source programs for you to add some interactivity to your web site. Such as free scripts that can be used to create message boards, ecommerce shopping cart software and many other app's. There are tons more open source, just do a google search for "open search" for whatever you want, and you will find them.

  There are millions of programmers from all around the world, and I am sure they are very good at what they do. But I have only dealt with a few programmers for my own personal and business web sites. This is a very short list. These programmers are very well respected and trust worthy.

TDavid also runs one of the webs longest running internet radio shows. 6 + years and going strong.   There are some scripts that will make things easier with building a data base for your site. There are tons of scripts that do many things. If you are looking to set up an auction type site. Or if you are a car dealership and want to list your car lot. Scripts are the way to go to easily update your site daily. • Turn-K I have personally used this script for one of my sites. It is a good script and does what it needs to do. But if you want tech support, you will run into some problems with this outfit. They will reply to you with any questions. But once the script is installed, forget about getting any such custom programming after. Your best bet would be get that custom programming before, and have them install it and make sure the site is running how you want it. I do not know if they have changed the way they run things. But this was my own experience. The script is a real good and would be great in creating a shopping mall type site.

• Robo Form Has many programs, I use the password generator program that creates passwords and user names with a few clicks of the mouse. The password generator allows you to a string up to 511 characters long. Very useful tool to create passwords and users names.
• ZD net Offers a great deal of goodies.
• Tucows Is a site that offers programs for mac and PC users that will make the web easier and more effective for passionate internet users.
• Flash Is an the adobe family along with dream weaver. I have yet to learn how to use this program. And I really have wanted to learn how to create flash web sites for a number of years. This will allow super advanced web designers to create flash movies, animation, amazing interactive web sites. And can also create internet games, and so very much more.
• Front Page This program has been retired, and Microsoft Expression is the new MS product in creating and publishing web software. I moved up from notepad to front page. Again these programs create unneeded and unwanted coding within the pages.
  
   
• Tutorials Tips on how to learn HTML, SEO, PHP and much more.
  There are hundreds of thousands upon millions of web site and webmaster tutorials that exists on the internet, that range from tips for beginning webmasters, photo shop/graphics, SEO-ing, cascading style sheets (CSS). And so very much more. I have a created a list of as many things I can think of that range in many topics that will be very helpful. So get a cup of milk, soda, coffee, a glass of wine, beer, or crack open that bottle of Jack Daniel's, and start clicking and reading.  Please be aware of those "Get rich quick schemes" The only ones that are getting rich are the people that are selling info. There are some legit companies that offer their knowledge, but there are a lot more that are not legit. As the saying goes, "If it's to good to be true. It probably isn't."
• W3Schools At W3Schools you will find all the Web-building tutorials you need, from basic HTML and XHTML to advanced XML, SQL, Database, Multimedia, WAP, and a great deal of many other free tutorials.

  When I started out and had a few very small web sites up. I really wanted to (brag) at how many hits my little sites were getting. Counters are cool, but they really are more for that web site ego boost. Other than that they really do not need to be on web sites. (In my opinion). But for those that want to have web site counters on your site pages you will see a list below that are easy to cut and paste the code and upload. And presto you have a web counter. Web trackers on the other hand are real important to learn and now where your traffic is coming in and where they are leaving your site.  Most host offer great traffic stats. I your host does not offer traffic stats, find a new host.
  Please note some of these counters are traffic leaks, meaning they may trap your surfers into sites and popup's, which could make those surfers to not want to come back to your site.
